Things which are OF THE AWESOME

London IN THE SUN. :D :D :D

Ironman. Thes first hour or so of the movie made me go "WTF, WHERE ARE THE SUPERHEROES?" But the rest of it was terrific fun in a very silly way.

/film has posted 40 hi-res photos from The Dark Knight. IS THERE ANYTHING GREATER THAN HI RES PROMOS? I THINK NOT. Nothing majorly spoilery therein, as long as you've seen the trailer.

Included in the above promos, William Fichtner will guest star. Fucking A! He's a terrific actor; I loved him in Invasion and Prison Break because he has such great presence on screen. I can't wait to see him on film. ♥

Sam Anders, of Battlestar Galactica. I am still catching up on series 4, so I am avoiding the BSG fandom right now, but I feel the need to voice this (hugely unpopular) opinion: Kara/Lee are interesting when they're flirting, but they make ONE BORING ASS COUPLE. They're whiny and teeny and mushy, and they bring out the most irritating aspects of each other. Kara/Sam, on the other hand, are HOT. They're unpredictable and compelling, and they have great chemistry. Sam >>>> Lee. *runs away from angry fandom*

Guess who's joining the cast for next season of Heroes? Bruce Boxleitner, of Babylon 5 fame. Yays! (Thanks to maechi for the link. :D)

I found a pair of Doctor Who-style Converse abandoned by my brother at home. YOINKED.

Clip of Michael Shanks in a Stargate audio drama. It appears Shanks has taken to reading fanfic out loud for us. Awww. Also, he does an excellent General Hammond. >:D
Related to this, GW reports that an upcoming audio drama will feature David Nykl. Huzzah! I think I could happily listen to Zelenka read the phone book. ♥

Heroes vid recs and icons

As a comic geek, I'm a massive fan of Heroes. Two of the guys who make the show, Jeph Loeb and Tim Sale, are my all time favourite comic writer/artist team. You can really tell that the show is made by comic people, as every shot and camera angle used is perfectly positioned to express meaning through visual impact. I love the Heroes comic volume intensely, especially the stories about Wireless (best super power ever? I THINK SO.) but I really haven't got involved in the online fandom.

However, yesterday

missyvortexdv posted a fabulous Heroes vid rec which I just must share:

Vid perfection? I think maybe so. This expresses Slyar perfectly, in an almost sympathetic light. Sylar/Nietzsche FTW!

I went hunting for more Heroes vids, and found a couple of gems:

Yep, this vid has converted me to a Sylar/Peter shipper. Mmm, enemy slash. Theirs is an angsty-violent-superpowered love.

I enjoyed those so much, I felt an overwhelming urge to make Sylar icons.
